THE SUMMER OF THE HORNETS illustrates a story of two young sisters lured by a hornet's nest found in the woods behind their house and the traumatic consequences of their discovery. The premise of this project is loosely based on a real-life account in which my sister was horribly attacked when a hornet’s nest was disrupted. Frozen with fear she was stung over one hundred times. My sister, who survived the attack, and her family are portrayed as the characters in the series.
